What Is Myofunctional Therapy?

Myofunctional Therapy is a neuromuscular re-education program that trains the muscles of the face, tongue, and lips to work in harmony.

A series of exercises that target the muscles of the face, mouth, and tongue. Designed to improve:

If these four goals are accomplished, proper dental and craniofacial development can take place in growing children.

Meet Janelle:-

Janelle has been dedicated to delivering exceptional oral health care since graduating as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2006. With a strong commitment to professional growth and patient-centered care, she pursued advanced training in Restorative Dental Hygiene in 2012, gaining the skills to support a wide range of restorative procedures including fillings, temporary crowns, and more — all under the supervision of a dentist.

Always striving to expand her scope of care, Janelle completed specialized training in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy through the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT) in 2025. This additional expertise allows her to assess and treat disorders related to tongue posture, breathing patterns, and oral muscle function — helping both children and adults improve oral habits that affect speech, sleep, orthodontics, and overall health.

Known for her gentle approach and attention to detail, Janelle is passionate about empowering patients through education and evidence-based care. Whether she’s restoring a smile or guiding a patient through a myofunctional therapy program, her goal is always the same: to support long-term oral health and overall well-being.

Why It Matters ?

When oral and facial muscles are out of balance, it creates a ripple effect that affects not just the mouth, but the entire body. These imbalances — known as Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs) — are linked to:

Snoring & sleep apnea

Forward head posture

TMJ and jaw pain

Speech difficulties

Feeding/swallowing challenges

Orthodontic relapse

Poor focus, fatigue, and behavioral issues in children

Imagine the Transformation

Imagine your child being able to breathe easily at night, focus better in school, or avoid future orthodontic problems. Or imagine waking up refreshed, without jaw pain or snoring disrupting your sleep. That’s the life-changing impact of therapy.

The Path to Better Health

Oral Myofunctional Disorders can cause breathing difficulties, poor sleep, and oral discomfort. These symptoms often affect daily health and quality of life.

Our personalized programs retrain tongue, lip, and jaw muscles for proper function. This safe, science-backed therapy addresses root causes, not just symptoms.

Restore natural breathing, improve sleep, and support lasting oral health. Enjoy greater comfort, energy, and overall wellbeing.
